About 30 million Russians would like to live in Crimea

More than 20 percent of the inhabitants of the mainland of Russia, and this is about 30 million people, would like to move to Crimea for permanent residence and work. Such data are provided in the study of the Superjob project.

The sea and mild climate are the main reasons why Russians want to live on the peninsula. Basically, these are residents of Moscow and St. Petersburg who plan to move with their families, work remotely and receive the same salary.

“The population in Crimea and Sevastopol is constantly increasing, people in cities and villages since 2014 have become noticeably more, like cars. The peninsula has a really wonderful climate, warm winters, and there is always an opportunity to visit in a short time some interesting place, for example, our palaces, or go hiking in the mountains, ”sociologist Oksana Svidovskaya comments for the FAN publication.

According to her, today all conditions for a comfortable life have been created in Crimea and Sevastopol, there is all the necessary social infrastructure. In addition, the region is developing rapidly and has great prospects.

According to official data alone, as of January 2021, more than 200 thousand Russians moved to Crimea and Sevastopol after reunification with Russia, but some experts believe that the real figure is much higher.

“I think that the data of the All-Russian Population Census, which will be known only in April next year, will put an end to this issue. Now we can only rely on the available statistics, which tells us that the population on the Crimean peninsula has increased by almost 10 percent since 2014, ”the sociologist notes.
